Honouring Serene Lowe-Teo

Who gently passed into heaven at the age of 56. A beloved wife, devoted mother, and faithful friend—she loved God, her family, and brought hope to many. The title A Patch of Heaven comes from her own words, born of her generous spirit and her joy in bringing comfort to others through the art of patchwork and needlecraft.

Lim Wee Kuan Gracia

Gracia is a medical social worker and art therapist for over 30 years, gives voice to grieving children. Her book A Patch of Heaven draws from their stories, offering comfort to young readers and guiding adults with empathy. She founded Living Streams Therapy, Training and Consultancy LLP. Her work has been featured twice in The Straits Times, including 'Help, Mummy is dying: Is it because I didn't do my homework?' and 'Why shielding children from death does more harm than good'.

Teo Tee Loon

Tee Loon is the Executive Director of Lakeside Family Services in Singapore, where he has served for over three decades, championing the well-being of children, youth, and families. His work is grounded in professional expertise and deep personal experience. After the passing of his beloved wife, Serene Lowe, in 2022, he walked through his own journey of grief, healing, and hope—shaping his perspective on emotional resilience. Through this project, he hopes to raise understanding and support for grieving children and families.

Melissa Lim

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Distinction from James Cook University (Singapore) in 2025. Between 2016 and 2018, she tutored children, developing a passion for child development and emotional wellbeing. A Patch of Heaven marks her first experience contributing to a children's storybook and workbook. In this role, she has combined her academic background with heartfelt care to create resources that are meaningful and supportive for children facing grief and loss.

Ng Jing Wen

Ng Jing Wen

Jing Wen is an illustrator, graphic designer, and UI/UX designer with a background in Communication and Experience Design, trained in Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore. As a freelance designer, she has helped small businesses craft compelling visual narratives and branding through thoughtful storytelling. In A Patch of Heaven, she brings a gentle, intuitive artistic touch to create safe visual spaces where young readers see their feelings reflected. She also designed the website's UI/UX, extending that same warmth into the website experience.

Lim Wei Yun Nikki

Lim Wei Yun Nikki

Nikki is an illustrator with a background in Game Art Design and studies in Digital Media at the University of Stirling. Alongside her studies, she works as a freelance artist, merging visual storytelling with digital painting, often drawing inspiration from nature and narrative-driven games. In A Patch of Heaven, she enriches the project's visual storytelling, collaborating closely with Jing Wen to shape landscapes and environments that feel both captivating and emotionally resonant.

Tan Yong Hong

Tan Yong Hong

Yong Hong is a full-stack and AI engineer studying Computer Science at NUS, with a background in Game Development at Nanyang Polytechnic. In 2025, he founded Crystara, an NFT marketplace that won first place at a major hackathon, and is also the founder of Kavela, a platform for autonomous AI agents. In A Patch of Heaven, he collaborated with Jing Wen to build the entire website and backend, bringing the stunning visuals and animations to life through thoughtful, full-stack development.
